Liking the Mage … Again

This weekend I’ve been focusing mostly on my Mage, despite the fact my Hunter is maybe a couple hours of questing away from 85.  I don’t know what it is about the Mage that I like, but I’ve been having a lot of fun playing him.  It may have something to do with the fact that Blizzard has done a great job with revamping all the starting zones and making quests and events flow together better.  This weekend I finished off Redridge, Duskwood and Northern Stranglethorn.

For the most part the zones have had a complete overhaul with new quest hubs and story variations.  It was nice to finally see the Lakeshire bridge get completed; I can’t remember how many times I did the Gnoll quest to get the parts they needed to finish it :)   I also liked how the same quests in Duskwood took on a new flow and how they progressed in -basically- a straight line through the zone eventually leading me to Stranglethorn.  At the end of my play time on Saturday I made it to level 35, which is quite amazing when you consider I started the character less than a week ago and I only played a couple hours each night.

I have also been leveling up Herbalism and Inscription which I plan on making some much needed money with.  I couldn’t believe the price of some of the Glyphs on the Auction House and was happy to see some of the lower level Glyphs selling on the Auction House for around 50 gold.  I quickly started making money and it hasn’t stopped.  Of course I also hope to get some much needed Glyphs on my Mage as well, which isn’t easy for a new character on a new server when they go for 10 gold+ on the Auction House.  I had the gold to buy a couple of them, but who wants to waste all their hard earned gold on Glyphs? :)
